However, it was unconfirmed by PepsiCo at the time. In Mid-2020, on the r/MountainDew Reddit, many people speculated that Merry Mash-Up might be re-releasing for the Holiday season of 2020. It was officially released in stores on November 5th, 2019 throughout the United States for a limited time in 12-packs, 20-ounce bottles, and 2-liter bottles until December 28th, the end of Holiday 2019. The employee also revealed the release of other limited-time flavors: VooDEW (2019), a mystery (Candy Corn) flavor, and a canceled Happy Dew Year, a peach flavor. On April 8th, 2019, it was revealed by a PepsiCo employee that Merry Mash-Up would be returning to stores on November 4th, 2019. It was officially released in stores on November 5th, 2018 throughout the United States for a limited time in 12-packs and 20-ounce bottles until December 31st, the end of Holiday 2018.


On October 3rd, 2018, in a r/MountainDew Reddit post, a user named u/McSteebler posted a photograph of the inside of a display case, showing the other display cases with release dates of each late 2018 limited-time flavors: Merry Mash-Up (11/5/18), Citrus Cherry (10/8/18), and Ice (Cherry) (9/24/18). On July 13th, 2018, the YouTube channel m圜ountyMarket posted a product review about the Holiday-themed-flavor. On July 4th, 2018, in an Instagram post, Merry Mash-Up was first leaked by PepsiCo employee showing an image of a 20-ounce test sample bottle he had received. Its tagline was "Cranberry Pomegranate Flavor with Other Natural Flavors."
